Kindergarten classes! We cannot accept dog aggression or people aggression at this time. We are concerned and will be happy to refer you to someone to help you in your area. . Puppy Kindergarten ! We are very excited to offer this new class. Get your puppy off to the right start. We teach all the basics plus address mouthing, crate training and offer a fun obstacle course! (Please note we take puppies after the 2 set of shots and at least 11 weeks old. Please consult with your veterinarian to determine vaccine schedule. This class is for puppies 11weeks to 1yr.) CGC Part 2 : Recommended if you are taking the CGC test or the Therapy Dog test. Very intensive work on long downs, stays, leave it, loose-leash walking & incorporating a release command. Will add lots of verbal cues . One class will be a the park. Also learn to work under heavy distractions. (We will have some fun too) CGC Part I: (sit, down, stay, recall, heel, loose-leash target, stand &1 trick Also included: child-proofing your dog, safety,& stop jumping.) This covers basic obedience and manners. We include some life-saving strategies for your dog. Class remains open at the end for 15 min. to practice. NEW CLASS: come learn APDT Rally! FUN, easy way to get higher level of obedience . This is a competiton course. (prequisite is at least some obedience training prior to class) CGC TEST DATE: MARCH 27th by appointment Please note: you do not have to take classes to qualify for the CGC testing. The classes are to help you prepare for the CGC test which requires distractions, recalls and a reliable down, sit and stay as well as other items. The CGC- part 1 class covers basic obedience and pet-safety. The CGC -part 2 covers impulse control and obedience with lots of duration and distractions (includes a fun field trip)! Those who wish to take the Therapy Dog Test requires a dog with a good temperament and also enjoys people. We do add the TDI testing items to our CGC part 2 class so you will be able to prepare for the test. CGC part 2 will be offered in the winter session. S.T.A.R Puppy Test Date: MARCH 27th 9-10 Don’t miss out on achieving this important Goal for you and your puppy. Once you pass, your pooch will be recognized by the AKC (mixed breed or not) as a STAR Puppy. You also receive a certificate and a beautiful Olympic style gold medallion upon processing your test results and papers. Orientation for Puppy & CGC I Classes Learn about the proper collars, treats, what to bring etc. at the Saddle Club. We work on timing etc. (Please bring your vaccine records and any fees due. You may use the Therapy dog International standards for vaccines and/or titters. The rabies must be current.) (Should attend at least half of the meetings, if possible.) Members in good standing have not been excused for bad behavior. Youth volunteers may use points towards the training, camps and other activities as payment. We realize the prices are very low. We are fortunate all of our trainers volunteer their time. Our goal is to offer training and education to the public to save dogs from euthanasia and kids from a possible dog attack or bite. Katie’s Kidz d/b/a/ K-9 Capers is a non-profit humane education and training organization. K-9 Capers 4-H Kids Club is a program provided by Katie’s Kidz promoting empathy, respect and responsibility by teaching goal setting, providing community service projects and humane education to youth 5-18 years old. All dogs trained under K-9 Capers instruction will not be held liable for loss, damage from disease, death, running away, theft, fire, injury to persons, other dogs or property by said dog to k-9 Capers, other class participants or volunteers and trainers of K-9 Capers.
