Welcome ! to K-9 Capers Jr. Handler and 4-H Dog Training Club







Welcome to K-9 Capers!

What started as a youth group has grown to a full-service training and
education program
.

Our main goal has been dog-bite prevention and therapy-dog work.
We offer a full array of services for both the youth and the young at heart!

We specilize in kids and canines! Here are few programs
we offer as well as dog training classes and the Canine Good 
Citizen test throughout the year. 

Dogs and Storks - preparing your dog for your baby.
Learn the warning signs, how to crate a safe-zone and more.
Gift certificates available!

Kid’s and Canines-dog-bite prevention program (FREE).

Tail-Waggin’Tutors -Kids reading to dogs.(FREE)

Summer Camp- programs for the youth and canines.

AKC Canine Good Citizen- evaluations and training.

AKC S.T.A.R. Puppy- for puppies ages 11 weeks to 1year.

4-H Club( program for 5-18 youth only) parental involvement required.

We have also started a Jr Handlers show team. We will be showing at the Cabarrus County fair Sept. 18 2010


Many classes are now open to the public. We offer Senior citizen and 4-H member discounts.

We have a hostess program for Dog’s and Storks if you would like to get paid a hostess fee.



We have a 4-H club (K-9 Capers Kids 4-H Club) which usually meets one
Saturday of every month at the Cabarrus Saddle Club at no charge.
Please look at the new meeting schedule. We also have LOTS of field
trips,workshops and community projects all year long.You do not need
a dog to join!

The Jr. Handler Club is for 8-18 year olds and the Clover Bud group
is for 5-7 year olds. Come join the fun as we learn all about dogs
and explore K-9 sports such as herding,agility and backpacking.

We now offer dog-training classes to the public and the 4-H members.
4-H members of ANY 4-H group gets a 50% or more discount, and
often times “free” classes.(See Training)

We also hold workshops and clinics throughout the year. We try to
make them free to our 4-H Club members. Some of the workshops
are open to the public. Workshops have included search and rescue,
tracking and backpacking.(See Events/Classes)

We visit the libraries and other organizations to teach dog-bite prevention
at no charge. Contact our office 704 721 6757 for a 45 minute workshop
at your organization. (See our Humane Education section) This includes
our Tail-Waggin’ Tutors program. (Kids reading to Canines)

We are now an official presenter for new parents called Dogs & Storks.
We offer monthly workshops and have gift certificates!

We strongly believe in giving back to our community by visiting and performing
at nursing homes. If your organization would like a visit, Please call our office
704 721-6757 or if you want to get involved in visiting contact us about our
therapy-dog classes and evaluations.

We also serve our Teen-Court system by offering service projects that instill
our cornerstones of our organization which is empathy, respect and responsibility.

Of course, we also need volunteers! You can stop by the 4-H office to get a form
or visit their website http://www.nc4h.org . You can also come to one of our
monthly meetings for forms as well. We would love to hear from you! You
