K-9 Capers
Welcome! (who we are)

Welcome to K-9 Capers Jr. Handler and Dog Training Club!

What started as a youth group has grown to a full-service training and education program. Our main goal has been dog-bite prevention and therapy-dog work. We offer a full array of services for both the youth and the young at heart!
  • We have a 4-H club (K-9 Capers Kids 4-H Club) which usually meets the 1st Saturday of every month at the Cabarrus Saddle Club at no charge. Please look at the new meeting schedule. We also have LOTS of field trips, workshops and community projects all year long. You do not need a dog to join! The Jr. Handler Club is for 8-18 year olds and the Clover Bud group is for 5-7 year olds. Come join the fun as we learn all about dogs and explore K-9 sports such as herding, agility and backpacking.   (See 4-H Meetings)

  • We now offer dog-training classes to the public and the 4-H members. 4-H members of ANY 4-H group gets a 50% or more discount, and often times “free” classes.(See Training)

  • We also hold workshops and clinics throughout the year. We try to make them free to our 4-H Club members. Some of the workshops are open to the public. Workshops have included search and rescue, tracking and backpacking.(See Events/Classes)

  • We visit the libraries and other organizations to teach dog-bite prevention at no charge. Contact our office 704 721 6757 for a 45 minute workshop at your organization. (See our Humane Education section) This includes our Tail-Waggin’ Tutors program. (Kids reading to Canines)

  • We are now an official presenter for new parents called Dogs & Storks. We offer monthly workshops and have gift certificates! (see our Dogs and Storks section)

  • We strongly believe in giving back to our community by visiting and performing at nursing homes. If your organization would like a visit, Please call our office 704 721-6757 or if you want to get involved in visiting contact us about our therapy-dog classes and evaluations.

  • We also serve our teen-court system by offering service projects that instill our cornerstones of our organization which is empathy, respect and responsibility.

Of course, we also need volunteers! You can stop by the 4-H office to get a form or visit their website http://www.nc4h.org . You can also come to one of our monthly meetings for forms as well. We would love to hear from you! You can call us at 704 721 6757 anytime!  our e-mail is k9capers@gmail.com
